Minimalism and Coco Chanel’s "outrageous fashion" in the pandemic

I was wondering to what do we owe this new minimalism and how much does this minimalism cost. Basics are bold, and basics are what we are opting for -taking eternal inspiration from celebs -, but is this just a trend that we are following or is it that for the first time we are consciously choosing minimalism.

This is however to say, that this minimalism is a thing of brands, for can we expect, especially in India, for colours like beige, blue and black to rage in the local shops or the flea markets. Coffee makes me think, that is one of the best parts about coffee. So I thought to myself, with basics and the colours that are earthy tones that are we moving towards, are they the product of minimalism and an haute couture or are we moving towards an extremely toned down, almost dull sense of dressing?

Coco Chanel’s saying comes to mind, “ Fashion in difficult times is outrageous.” Fashion has a lot to say, so what are we saying when we give ourselves this BASIC makeover in possibly one of the most uncontrollable challenges of humanity? I have always been a white and beige colour person but it looks like the world around me is actively choosing it to make their go-to sense of styling and dressing too. But the more important question is, who can afford this style in the times of a pandemic with the Internet?
